"We have to get creative to make sure that we're keeping as many of our good players as we can," Roseman stated. He emphasized the importance of playing young players, given the team's wealth of talent and high salaries.
The Eagles' strategy includes four main components: retaining core players, adding value through free agency, developing young talent, and dominating the NFL Draft.
Key players like quarterback Jalen Hurts are signed through 2028, ensuring stability in critical positions. The team has secured long-term contracts with several offensive and defensive players, creating a solid foundation for future success.
In free agency, the Eagles focus on acquiring valuable players without committing to long-term contracts. This year, they retained linebacker Zack Baun and extended Saquon Barkley's contract. Other acquisitions include running back A.J. Dillon and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson on one-year deals.
