After contributing to Philadelphia Union's first-ever 3-0-0 start, Jovan Lukic and Kai Wagner have been recognized with MLS Team of the Matchday honors. The pair played a key role in securing a 2-0 victory over New England Revolution on Saturday night, maintaining the team's perfect start to the 2025 season.
Jovan Lukic, playing his third match for Philadelphia Union, was pivotal in midfield. He won two tackles and scored his first goal for the team with a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box that hit the post before going into the net. His performance included an 83% pass completion rate, earning him Player of the Match recognition.
Kai Wagner contributed his fourth assist of the season by setting up Tai Baribo's goal in the 76th minute. The German left back completed 80% of his passes and made two clearances and three tackles, helping secure Philadelphia's first clean sheet of 2025.
Philadelphia Union will return to Subaru Park for a two-game homestand starting next weekend against Nashville SC. The event will feature Dollar Dog Night with $1 hot dogs available at concession stands and U-Serve Night presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA, promoting volunteer opportunities throughout 2025. The match is scheduled for Sunday, March 16th at 2 PM and will be broadcast on FOX and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
