The Philadelphia Eagles are set to enter the 2025 season with Jalen Hurts at the helm, fresh off a Super Bowl LIX MVP performance. As he embarks on his sixth year in the NFL, Hurts boasts an impressive record that includes two Super Bowl appearances, two NFC Championships, and two Pro Bowl selections.
In 2024, Hurts achieved career highs with a 68.7% completion rate and a passer rating of 103.7. He also led all quarterbacks with 14 rushing touchdowns. The Eagles' quarterback lineup proved robust last season, featuring notable performances from Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee.
Kenny Pickett joined the Eagles from Pittsburgh last offseason and stepped up when Hurts suffered a concussion in Week 16. In that game against Washington, Pickett threw for 143 yards and one touchdown despite the loss. He then secured his first win as an Eagle in Week 17 by contributing another touchdown pass during the NFC East title-clinching victory.
Tanner McKee also showed promise by throwing three touchdown passes within his first seven career attempts against teams like the Cowboys and Giants. Starting his first game in Week 18, McKee recorded 269 yards and two touchdowns. Both Pickett and McKee remain under contract for the upcoming season.
Head Coach Nick Sirianni praised Jalen Hurts: "Just all that he can do. He's a great passer and reads the defense great... And he just knows how to win."
After Week 3 of last season, Hurts threw only one interception during regular play and added just one more throughout postseason games. Post-Week 5 bye, he managed to log an impressive tally of touchdowns versus giveaways.
Kevin Patullo has been promoted to offensive coordinator this year—the fifth such change for Hurts in six years—but continuity seems not to be an issue for Philadelphia's winning ways so far.
With dual-threat talents like Saquon Barkley alongside A.J Brown or DeVonta Smith supporting him offensively—plus Dallas Goedert adding further depth—the Eagles' quarterback room looks poised once again as they prepare themselves ahead into another promising campaign come next fall.
