Frank Gumienny's journey with the Philadelphia Eagles began in 1998 when he joined the team as an accountant. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Gumienny has always been passionate about the Eagles. Over time, he advanced to become the team's Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, overseeing various departments such as accounting, ticketing, and merchandising.
In New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX, Gumienny takes on a different role. He is responsible for coordinating logistics for approximately 1,200 people traveling from Philadelphia to New Orleans. "Overseeing the whole movement of all the people from Philadelphia to New Orleans," said Gumienny. The operation involves planes, buses, hotels, and events.
Gumienny explained that preparations began immediately after defeating the Rams. "We beat the Rams on Sunday and 11 of us flew down here on Monday for an all-day meeting," he said. The team collaborates with OnLocation to organize travel packages and special requests.
The task is demanding but rewarding. Andrea Sorli, Eagles Vice President of Finance and Accounting, plays a crucial role in these efforts. According to Gumienny: "Amazing, amazing, amazing."
Throughout his career with the Eagles, Gumienny has participated in various operations within the organization. His experience includes working as a spotter in the radio booth during previous Super Bowls.
The primary objective remains winning the Super Bowl while ensuring smooth operations for everyone involved. "We're here to make sure that everything flows," said Gumienny.
"When you're with the Eagles," added Gumienny, "you know that being an Eagle means you'll always step in and do what is needed for the team."
