Six members of the University of Pennsylvania football team have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District selections for the 2024 season. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon.

The honored athletes include seniors Albert Jang, Max Matolcsy, and Travis McFarling; juniors Maxwell Freeman and Bisi Owens; and sophomore Devin Malloy.

"The 2024 Academic All-District Football teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom."

This recognition is part of the CSC Academic All-America program, which acknowledges football honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on January 28, 2025.

To qualify for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must meet specific criteria: they must be at least sophomores academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale, participate in 90 percent of their institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of their team's contests.
