Running back Malachi Hosley of the University of Pennsylvania has been named a third-team All-America by Stats Perform, following an impressive sophomore season. This marks the third consecutive year that a member of the Quakers has received All-America honors. Hosley joins previous honorees Joey Slackman and Jake Heimlicher from 2023 and 2022, respectively.

Earlier this week, Hosley was awarded the Asa S. Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year. In his second year at Penn, he achieved significant success, being unanimously selected as a first-team All-Ivy player for 2024. He led the league in various rushing categories: carries (191), yards (1,192), touchdowns (9), yards per carry (6.2), and yards per game (119.2). His total rushing yardage exceeded that of Columbia's Joey Giorgi by 332 yards, marking it as the eighth-highest in Penn's history since Sam Mathews' performance in 2003.

By the end of the Ivy League season, Hosley ranked fourth in FCS football for rushing yards per game and had notable rankings in other categories such as total rushing yards and all-purpose yards per game. His nine touchdowns were the highest since Karekin Brooks in 2019. Among his standout performances was a game against Cornell where he rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns, contributing to a historic victory with Penn scoring their most points since 1942.
