The University of Pennsylvania football team has continued its strong performance with ten players earning All-Ivy honors for the third consecutive season, as announced by the conference office. Among these honorees, sophomore running back Malachi Hosley achieved a unanimous first-team selection, marking a significant accomplishment for the Quakers since Nick Miller's similar recognition in 2018.
Penn's representation included four players on the first team, five on the second team, and one receiving an honorable mention. Senior punter Albert Jang was also distinguished as Penn's Academic All-Ivy representative for the 2024 season.
The first-team honorees from Penn are Netinho Olivieri (offensive line), Malachi Hosley (running back), Shiloh Means (defensive back), and Albert Jang (punter). On the second team are William Bergin (offensive line), Jared Richardson (wide receiver), Carter Janki (defensive line), John Lista (linebacker), and Julien Stokes (return specialist). Jack Fairman received an honorable mention as a linebacker.
"Hosley is the 29th Penn player (since 1999) to be a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection," according to a statement. He joins Tre Solomon, who was recognized similarly in 2016. Both Hosley and Means have now been named first-team All-Ivy twice in their careers. Additionally, Means and Fairman conclude their time at Penn as three-time All-Ivy recipients.
Jang's performance stands out as he becomes the second Penn punter in three years to earn first-team All-Ivy honors following Ben Krimm in 2022. The Quakers' achievement of double-digit All-Ivy honorees for three consecutive seasons marks their best stretch since 2015-17, totaling 39 honorees during this period.
Each player's contributions were highlighted throughout the season, demonstrating both individual talent and teamwork within the program. For more updates on Penn football, fans can follow @PennFB on X or visit PennAthletics.com.
