Philadelphia Union fell to New York City FC 1-0 in their latest Eastern Conference matchup. The close contest was decided by a single goal from Alonso Martínez in the 55th minute at Citi Field, Flushing.

Philadelphia's coach Bradley Carnell had to adapt his lineup due to recent injuries. Homegrown goalkeeper Andrew Rick started in place of Andre Blake, who was sidelined with an adductor issue. Rick made notable saves in the first half, but Martínez's strike proved decisive.

After Gazdag's recent transfer, the midfield consisted of new faces: Jovan Lukic, Indiana Vassilev, Danley, and Quinn Sullivan. The team struggled to break through NYC FC's defense despite multiple adjustments throughout the game aiming to enhance their attack.

Philadelphia returns home to face Atlanta United on April 19 at Subaru Park. During this match, the Union will partake in “Greener Goals Presented by Subaru,” as part of Earth Day celebrations.
