With the NFL Draft approaching, wide receiver Terrace Marshall reflects on his journey from being selected by the Carolina Panthers in 2021 to now joining the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year contract. At 20, Marshall was a standout at LSU, known for his impressive stats, which included 106 receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns, five of which were achieved in key games during LSU's undefeated 2019 season.
Marshall recounts his development over the past four years and expresses readiness for new challenges. “I was developing, growing,” he said. “I feel like over the past four years, with everything how my career and my life has gone, I feel like I'm ready."
Last year, Marshall faced several challenges, including being cut from the Panthers and moving through practice teams with San Francisco and Las Vegas before ending the season with the Raiders. Despite these tests, he retained strong faith, saying, “With that testing, it helps you grow and become stronger in all aspects."
Now, approaching his 25th birthday, Marshall is prepared to contribute to the Eagles with his physical attributes and experience. “It's a blessing to be in a position for the Eagles organization to give me a chance,” Marshall said. His connection to Eagles Wide Receivers Coach Aaron Moorehead, who once attempted to recruit him to Texas A&M, adds further optimism.
Looking forward to playing alongside A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, with Jalen Hurts as quarterback, Marshall appreciates the opportunity. “That's a blessing for sure,” he said. “You know that it's going to be a quarterback that delivers you the ball, it's going to be on time."
