Philadelphia Union II secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Atlanta United 2 at Subaru Park on Thursday night, marking their first decisive win of the 2025 season. The team scored two goals in the first half and added three more in the second, leading to a comprehensive victory under the guidance of Head Coach Ryan Richter.
As the Generation adidas Cup approaches, Union II will next play on Wednesday, April 23rd, followed by an away match against New York City FC II. The match at Belson Stadium is scheduled for a 7:30 PM kickoff and will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Head Coach Ryan Richter crafted his fourth different lineup of the season for this match. Oliver Semmle started in goal for the second consecutive match, with Mike Sheridan on the bench.
In the 21st minute, Stas Korzeniowski scored his first professional goal for Union II, assisted by David Vazquez, following a pass from Cavan Sullivan. Neil Pierre doubled the lead just before halftime, heading in a precise pass from CJ Olney.
At halftime, with a first-team game approaching, Richter replaced Pierre and Sullivan with Ramsay Qawasmy and Markus Anderson. Atlanta United 2 were reduced to ten men in the 56th minute when Chong Qui received his second yellow card.
Richter made further changes in the 61st minute, bringing on Eddy Davis III for Sal Olivas. CJ Olney scored his first goal of the season in the 71st minute, assisted by Davis III. In the 75th minute, Kellan LeBlanc won a penalty, which Nick Pariano converted. A minute later, LeBlanc scored to make it 5-0.
The match concluded with a 5-1 win for Philadelphia Union II, giving them their first three-point win of the season.
