Free agency for the Philadelphia Eagles began before the official negotiating period opened. The team secured a new contract with Saquon Barkley, following his NFL Offensive Player of the Year season in 2024. They also retained All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun through 2027.

Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman has focused on maintaining a competitive roster for 2025 and beyond. The core players, including key offensive and defensive members, are signed for future seasons.

The Eagles have eight draft picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft and aim to build on their Super Bowl LIX victory. Some recent transactions include trading safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to Houston for OL Kenyon Green and a draft pick. This move opens opportunities for young safeties while adding depth to the offensive line with Green.

Another trade involved sending QB Kenny Pickett to Cleveland in exchange for QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a draft pick. This trade reflects Roseman's strategy of maximizing assets, as Pickett was unlikely to start over Jalen Hurts.

Several contributing players have left Philadelphia, but the team remains strong with a younger roster and key players signed long-term. Recent additions like Green and Thompson-Robinson aim to strengthen the team further.

Philadelphia also retained fullback Ben VanSumeren on a one-year deal. The Eagles continue efforts to improve their roster under Roseman's leadership.
