The Philadelphia Flyers emerged victorious against the Tampa Bay Lightning in a shootout, concluding the match 4-3 at Wells Fargo Center. Bobby Brink was instrumental for the Flyers, contributing two goals and an assist. Head coach John Tortorella's decision to adjust forward line combinations resulted in success as Philadelphia secured their first win of a seven-game homestand.

Ryan Poehling also scored during regulation time for the Flyers. Owen Tippett clinched the winning goal in the shootout, marking his second decisive shootout goal against Tampa this season. Olle Lycksell assisted twice during the game.

The Flyers initiated with strong momentum, recording four of the game's initial five shots within the first five and a half minutes. However, after Ryan Poehling incurred a penalty for flipping the puck over the glass from their defensive zone, Tampa capitalized on their power play opportunity at 8:29 in the first period. Gage Goncalves scored his fourth goal of the season with assists from Yanni Gourde and Ryan McDonagh.

Philadelphia responded by equalizing at 1-1 through Brink's ninth goal of the season at 14:20, assisted by Lycksell and Poehling. The Flyers led shots on goal in the first period, finishing with a count of 9-7.

Early into the second period, Zemgus Girgensons gave Tampa a brief lead before Brink leveled again for Philadelphia shortly after exiting a penalty box stint. His backhand finish marked his tenth goal this season, assisted by Sean Couturier.

Poehling regained Philly's lead late in the second period after receiving another assist from Lycksell and Brink. The Flyers maintained this edge despite Tampa's third-period equalizer courtesy of Cam Atkinson's effort from Victor Hedman and J.J. Moser.

Throughout overtime both teams had chances but neither could break through leading to a decisive shootout where Tippett ultimately sealed victory for Philadelphia following successful saves by Samuel Ersson who stopped 17 out of 20 shots overall including key saves during critical moments throughout regulation and overtime periods alike; Johansson managed saving 26 out-of-29 attempts facing him across all phases similarly challenged under pressure circumstances faced therein too reflecting commendable performances rendered both sides respectively albeit only one emerging triumphant outcome resulting favorably towards latter’s benefit contextually considered hereunder:
