Philadelphia Union II's midfielder Kellan LeBlanc has been selected for the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team training camp in Costa Rica. The camp, led by Head Coach Gonzalo Segares, will take place from March 18 to 25 and includes two matches against Costa Rica on March 22 and 24.
This marks the first gathering of the U-17 MNT since they qualified for their record 19th FIFA U-17 World Cup at last month’s Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers, also held in Costa Rica. LeBlanc is among four players returning from that competition, while nine players are set to make their debut with the team.
The roster for the training camp includes goalkeepers William Lodmell from Sporting CP in Portugal and Aidan Stokes from New York Red Bulls. Defenders called up include Miguel Alvarado of Colorado Rapids, Micah Harris of Houston Dynamo FC, Ian James of Sporting Kansas City, Enrique Martinez of LA Galaxy, Zach Molomo of FC Dallas, Oliver Tan of FC Famalicao in Portugal, Gio Villa of Real Salt Lake, and Bennett Wilp from Union Berlin in Germany.
In addition to LeBlanc, midfielders Isaiah Kaakoush from FC Dallas, Evan Lim from New York City FC, Jack Mize from Borussia Dortmund in Germany, and Logan Moniz from FC Boston Bolts have been named to the squad. Forwards include Mathis Albert also from Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Lionel Gitau from Houston Dynamo FC, Vitaliy Hlyut from Chicago Fire FC, Eric Preston from LA Galaxy, and Tanner Rosborough from New York Red Bulls.
