Flyers Charities, in collaboration with Michael’s Way and several Flyers players and their wives, recently celebrated the completion of the 2025 Building Hope for Kids initiative. The project involved a complete renovation of the home of Joyce and Ronda Burns, an eight-year-old battling leukemia. Over six weeks, Fastrack Construction and Ashley Furniture joined forces to transform the residence into a comfortable space tailored to Ronda's needs.

Joyce Burns expressed gratitude for the support received: “We’re incredibly grateful to Michael’s Way, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (where Ronda is being treated), Flyers Charities, and the Flyers wives for their hard work to make our dream house a reality,” she said. “Cancer affects millions of Americans in different ways, and we feel blessed that in this difficult time, our home can be a place of comfort and community.”

Coinciding with the project's completion, the Today Show aired a segment featuring interviews with key figures involved in the initiative. On the Fly Productions plans to release a documentary titled "Hope Lives Here: A Flyers Charities Story," which will provide an in-depth look at the project and highlight those who have supported Ronda during her cancer treatment.

Blair Listino, President of Flyers Charities and Flyers Alternate Governor, emphasized the emotional impact of the project: “Seeing the joy on Ronda and Joyce’s faces as they stepped into their new home proves that this project isn’t just about new walls and furniture; it’s about creating a space where a family can focus on what truly matters – love, recovery, and time together.”

The renovation effort was spearheaded by Fastrack Construction alongside Ashley Furniture. Chris McElwee from Michael's Way praised the community effort: “In just a few weeks, we transformed the house from the studs up – addressing structural concerns and more – to create a clean, secure space with hope and love,” he stated.

Tara A. Kelly from Regency Furniture also commented on their involvement: “Ashley Furniture is honored to have played a role in transforming the Burns' family home into a place of warmth and comfort,” she noted.

The combined efforts aim not only to provide physical improvements but also emotional support for families facing health challenges.
