After a strong rookie season in 2023, Jalen Carter made significant strides in 2024 as a key player on the Philadelphia Eagles' highly ranked defense. His impact extended beyond his statistics of 24 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Carter's presence often attracted double teams from opposing linemen, creating opportunities for his teammates throughout the season. Jordan Davis returned in excellent form, starting all 17 games and excelling during the playoffs with two sacks contributing to the Super Bowl run.

Milton Williams, a third-round pick from 2021, had an impressive season with career-highs of 34 quarterback pressures, seven tackles for loss (TFLs), and five sacks. Moro Ojomo showed potential in his second year with 22 QB pressures over 388 defensive snaps. Thomas Booker stepped up when needed, appearing in all games with 18 tackles (eight solo), four QB pressures, and a sack.

Rookie undrafted free agent Gabe Hall spent the season on the practice squad and was re-signed for the future. Byron Young experienced time on the active roster before moving to Injured Reserve.

Williams is currently the only free agent among the defensive line players following a standout Super Bowl performance where he achieved two sacks, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.

Senior Defensive Assistant/Defensive Line Coach Clint Hurtt praised Carter's abilities: "He has the ability to two-gap... Very high football IQ... He can play multiple techniques." Hurtt also acknowledged other team members: "Milton Williams, Jordan Davis... they all should be recognized even more... Huge credit to Milton and to Moro Ojomo to Jordan Davis to Thomas Booker."

Carter ranked seventh among NFL defensive linemen in 2024 with a PFF pass rush grade of 81.5. He finished ninth in total pressures (53) and second in batted passes (6), leading defensive linemen with two forced fumbles.

With Williams entering free agency, it remains uncertain how the Eagles will address this position group—whether through drafting or exploring free agency options—building upon their solid foundation that includes young talents like Carter and Davis who continue to improve over time.
