The Philadelphia Flyers have announced a trade involving forward Givani Smith and defenseman Erik Johnson. The Flyers acquired Smith from the Colorado Avalanche, while Johnson will head to Colorado.
Smith, who is 27 years old, has participated in 168 NHL games over six seasons, scoring nine goals and accumulating 22 points. His career has been divided between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL), where he played 157 games with a record of 26 goals and 53 points. Smith is set to join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL.
Johnson joined the Flyers on March 8, 2024, after being traded from the Buffalo Sabres for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. During his time with the Flyers, he played in 39 games, contributing three goals and three assists. Throughout his career, Johnson has appeared in a total of 1009 NHL games, recording 94 goals and tallying up to 346 points.
