Philadelphia Union secured a decisive 4-1 victory over FC Cincinnati at Subaru Park on Saturday night. This win marks the first time since 2011 that the Union have won their opening two games of a season. They have also set a new record for goals scored in the first two matches, with eight goals surpassing their previous best.

The match began with forward Tai Baribo scoring six minutes into the game, assisted by defender Kai Wagner. Midfielder Daniel Gazdag capitalized on an error from Cincinnati to assist Baribo's second goal, giving the Union a 2-0 lead. Baribo completed his hat trick in the 51st minute. FC Cincinnati's Evander reduced the deficit in the 58th minute, but Bruno Damiani sealed the victory for Philadelphia with his debut goal in stoppage time.

The Union will face New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on March 8.

Match officials included referee Allen Chapman and assistant referees Corey Parker and Kyle Atkins. The weather was clear with temperatures at 39 degrees.

Tai Baribo became only the fourth player in MLS history to score five goals in his first two games of a season. Jakob Glesnes made his 150th career start for Philadelphia, while Kai Wagner reached his 170th league start milestone.
