Philadelphia Union has included 22-year-old defender Isaiah LeFlore in their squad for a training camp in Spain as they prepare for the 2025 season. LeFlore, who missed his entire first season with the club due to an ACL injury, is back in training after extensive rehabilitation.

Reflecting on his return, LeFlore stated, “I feel good,” following a session in Marbella. He expressed excitement about rejoining his teammates and competing once again. The team plans to play two friendly matches during their stay, and if LeFlore participates against Slavia Praha or Aarhus Gymnastikforening, it will be his first appearance since joining from Houston Dynamo 2 in December 2023.

LeFlore shared that the most challenging aspect of recovery was being unable to compete. “I’m a competitive person and I just signed here last season, so I want to prove myself as well," he said. With new leadership under Head Coach Bradley Carnell and assistant Mitch Hildebrandt, LeFlore aims to make his debut this year and learn from experienced players like Kai Wagner.

The journey back has been difficult for LeFlore, who relocated while dealing with limited mobility. He drew inspiration from his sister Nina's similar experience during her college soccer career at Ohio State University. "She said to take the time to feel what I need to feel... Put my head down and just get to work," he recalled.

Now fully recovered, LeFlore appreciates being part of the team environment again. “You need that friendly banter... so to be back with the team on the field, it’s been really great,” he said.
