Interim head coach Brad Shaw's Philadelphia Flyers are set to face off against Martin St. Louis' Montreal Canadiens this Saturday evening in Quebec. The game, a part of a three-game season series, will take place at Bell Centre with a scheduled start time of 7:00 p.m. EDT.

The Flyers, with a record of 31-36-9, and the Canadiens, standing at 36-30-9, will conclude their season series at the Bell Centre. Currently, the Flyers hold a 1-1 record against the Canadiens, having previously lost 4-3 and won 6-4 in their home games this season.

One highlight of Saturday's game may be the potential NHL debut of center Karsen Dorwart, who was signed last week to a two-season entry-level contract with the Flyers. Dorwart, formerly of Michigan State, contributed significantly in his junior year with 31 points in 35 games and could bring valuable two-way play to the fourth line.

Among this season's top NHL rookies, Flyers winger Matvei Michkov stands out with 24 goals, leading in goals scored by rookies, and accumulating 58 points in 74 games. Competing for the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year, Michkov shares the spotlight with Montreal's defenseman Lane Hutson, who leads all rookies in scoring.

Winger Owen Tippett, aiming to hit 20 goals for the third consecutive season, currently sits at 19 goals after a scoring alteration from a recent game against the Buffalo Sabres. Meanwhile, Tyson Foerster, in his second season, seeks to surpass his 18 current goals, following back-to-back successful games against the Canadiens and Sabres.

This matchup follows a unique five-day break for the Flyers, who last played on Monday. Such breaks can disrupt team rhythm, making the first period crucial for regaining focus and execution. The Flyers have a road record of 12-17-8, whereas the Canadiens are stronger at home with a 20-12-5 record.
