Green Bay presents a formidable challenge for the NFL's top-ranked defense, as acknowledged by Vic Fangio during a media session at the NovaCare Complex. "They are running the ball very, very well, and they have their play pass game off of that," Fangio stated. He described Green Bay as a "big-play team" with an effective offense.
The Eagles previously faced Green Bay in Week 1 in Brazil, securing a 34-29 victory. However, both teams have evolved since then, according to Fangio. The upcoming NFC Wild Card Playoff at Lincoln Financial Field promises to be different.
Philadelphia's defense will need to perform at its peak against quarterback Jordan Love and running back Josh Jacobs. Despite missing deep threat Christian Watson due to injury, Green Bay's offense remains potent. Fangio praised Love's skills: "He's got a big arm... He's elusive... He's a perfect fit for their offense."
Jacobs leads Green Bay's rushing attack with 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. Fangio highlighted the strength of their offensive line and Jacobs' physical running style.
Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore reflected on the previous matchup in Brazil: "Long time ago... both teams evolved." He noted Green Bay's strong run defense and ability to force turnovers.
Michael Clay emphasized the threat posed by Keisean Nixon in the return game. "Elite speed. Great vision," Clay said, comparing Nixon to Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin.
Clay also discussed potential weather challenges for the Eagles' kicking game but expressed confidence in placekicker Jake Elliott and punter Braden Mann.
