The Philadelphia Eagles have announced several roster changes ahead of their game against the Dallas Cowboys, scheduled for Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The team has signed quarterback Ian Book to the active roster. Book was initially part of the practice squad as of Thursday. With Jalen Hurts sidelined due to a concussion, the Eagles' active roster now includes quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee alongside Book.
Head Coach Nick Sirianni expressed optimism about Book's potential: "Highly productive college career," he noted on Thursday. "We had an opportunity to get him after he had played a little in New Orleans. Really enjoyed our time with him when he was here. Had some high hopes for him."
In addition, defensive end Bryce Huff has been activated from Injured Reserve following his recovery from a wrist procedure. Huff participated in ten games this season, contributing 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four QB hits, three tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.
The Eagles have also elevated running back Tyrion Davis-Price and linebacker Dallas Gant from the practice squad for Sunday's game. Davis-Price is set to make his debut with Will Shipley unavailable due to a concussion. Meanwhile, Gant is positioned to make his NFL debut against Dallas.
Wide receiver Britain Covey has been placed on Injured Reserve after suffering a neck injury earlier this month against the Baltimore Ravens. Covey served as the team's primary punt returner and recorded significant stats over recent seasons.
Lastly, defensive end Charles Harris has been waived by the team after providing depth during Huff's absence on Injured Reserve.
