Sophomore running back Malachi Hosley has been recognized for his outstanding performance this season by being named to the second-team All-America list by FCS Football Central on Sports Illustrated. This accolade marks his second All-America honor of the postseason.

Earlier in the week, Hosley received third-team honors from Stats Perform. His achievements this year have also earned him the Asa S. Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year.

Hosley's performance in his second season at the University of Pennsylvania has been impressive. He was unanimously selected as a first-team All-Ivy player in 2024, leading in several rushing categories within the Ancient Eight. His statistics include 191 carries, 1,192 yards, nine touchdowns, an average of 6.2 yards per carry, and 119.2 yards per game. His total yardage is notably 332 yards more than the runner-up Joey Giorgi from Columbia and ranks eighth in Penn's program history since Sam Mathews' record in 2003.

In addition to his league-leading stats, Hosley placed fourth in FCS football for rushing yards per game following the Ivy League's final weekend. He also ranked 11th in total rushing yards, 13th in all-purpose yards per game with an average of 128.10, and 16th in yards per carry across FCS football.

Throughout the season, Hosley had seven games with over 100 rushing yards, making him just the 11th player in Ancient Eight history to achieve such a feat after having four similar performances last year. His nine touchdowns are noted as the highest since Karekin Brooks' performance in 2019.

One highlight of Hosley's season was against Cornell where he rushed for 192 yards and scored two touchdowns during a high-scoring game that ended with a Quakers victory at 67-49—their highest score since 1942.
