When the Philadelphia Flyers returned from a road trip in late March, winger Tyson Foerster was experiencing a challenging goal drought. Having scored only once since February, Foerster was eager to break his 15-game goalless streak as the team struggled offensively.

Known for fluctuating performances, Foerster finally scored his 17th goal against the Montreal Canadiens. His timing was significant, resulting in a 6-4 victory under interim head coach Brad Shaw. The goal lifted Foerster's spirits and initiated a scoring streak that continued with matches against the Buffalo Sabres and beyond.

Foerster went on to match last season's rookie goal count by scoring at Madison Square Garden against goaltender Jonathan Quick. "Coming into each year, you just want to get a little bit better, so that's pretty cool," he remarked, although he expressed disappointment over missing the playoffs.

Elsewhere, two Philadelphia Flyers draftees have made it to the NCAA championship game. Western Michigan Broncos, featuring Alex Bump, defeated the reigning champions, Denver Pioneers. Bump did not score but was active in the semifinal match. Devin Kaplan from Boston University contributed to a semifinal win over Penn State with an assist, setting up a championship clash against Bump's team.

In other news, the hockey community mourns the passing of Ray Shero at age 62, son of the famous Flyers coach Fred Shero. Although Ray never worked for the Flyers, his connection to the team and his contributions to hockey history are well recognized. His son, Kyle Shero, follows in the family's footsteps as a current amateur scout for the Flyers.
