The University of Pennsylvania's baseball team secured their first series sweep of Princeton since 2022, winning a 12-inning game 7-6 at Tommy Lasorda Field. Penn's Ryan Taylor delivered a walk-off single, concluding a dramatic game that featured extra innings and a rain delay.

Penn now holds a 13-12 overall record, with a 7-2 mark in Ivy League play. The sweep marked the Quakers’ first at home against Princeton since 2017 and the second time since 2023 they have swept at least two Ivy League series. Princeton dropped to a 7-22 record.

Key performances included Jarrett Pokrovsky's offensive display, going 3-for-5 with a double, two runs, and an RBI, hitting .500 in Ivy League play. Penn's pitchers recorded 19 strikeouts, with Connor Darling and Thomas Shurtleff allowing only one unearned run over the last six innings. Shurtleff's three no-hit innings earned him the win, his ERA dropping to 0.55.

The game saw Penn take an early lead with three runs in the first inning, but Princeton tied it up by the third inning. The Quakers regained a lead in the third, but Princeton came back to take a 6-4 lead in the seventh. In the ninth inning, Penn tied the game again, taking it into extra innings.

Taylor's walk-off single in the 12th inning ended a tense match. Both Penn and Columbia remain tied for first in the Ivy League standings, each with a 7-2 record.

Penn is set to play Villanova next Tuesday in Plymouth Meeting. Keep up with developments via @PennBaseball on social media or visit PennAthletics.com.
