The Philadelphia Eagles have reached an agreement with offensive lineman Matt Pryor, bringing him back to the team's roster on a one-year deal. Pryor, originally drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2018 draft from TCU, has had previous stints with several NFL teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, and Chicago Bears.
Pryor played 27 games for Philadelphia before his trade to the Colts in 2022. His versatile experience includes playing both tackle and guard positions. During the 2024 season with the Bears, Pryor made 15 starts out of 17 games, primarily playing as a guard.
Pro Football Focus ranked Pryor eighth among NFL guards for pass blocking with a grade of 78.1 in 2024, and he was positioned as the 21st overall guard. Over the season, he allowed no hits and logged a significant amount of playtime with 895 snaps at right guard and 59 at right tackle.
The Eagles' decision to re-sign him reunites them with a familiar player who has demonstrated his capability on the field. "Matt Pryor has shown commendable performance with his pass blocking and versatility," said the team's representative. – Written by Liam Wichser
