Philadelphia Union forward Tai Baribo has been named to MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Matchday for Matchday 1 after a standout performance in the season opener. The recognition came on Monday afternoon following his two-goal contribution to the Union's 4-2 victory over Orlando City SC.
The Israeli forward played a crucial role in securing the win under new Head Coach Bradley Carnell. Baribo scored his first goal in the 24th minute, equalizing the match with a finish from Kai Wagner's pass at the near post. He added his second goal of the season just after the hour mark, capitalizing on a strong run set up by homegrown player Frankie Westfield.
