Head Coach Nick Sirianni addressed reporters at the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, marking his first media appearance since the Eagles' Super Bowl Parade. This event also followed the announcement of Kevin Patullo as the new Offensive Coordinator, succeeding Kellen Moore, who left to become head coach of the Saints.
Sirianni explained that the decision to promote Patullo came after a thorough selection process. "I picked Kevin out of the people we interviewed because I thought he was the best man for the job first and foremost," Sirianni stated. He emphasized continuity as a crucial factor in maintaining team cohesion, noting its importance for key players like Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith.
The conversation turned to the Eagles' controversial play known as the Brotherly Shove or "tush push," which some teams have sought to ban due to its effectiveness. "Just because it's a successful play for us doesn't mean it should go away," Sirianni commented. Despite its high success rate, he noted that it requires rigorous practice and coaching.
Additionally, Parks Frazier is expected to join the Eagles' staff in a role similar to Patullo's previous position. Frazier has experience with both Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers and worked with Sirianni in Indianapolis. Sirianni praised Frazier's work ethic and football intelligence.
Saquon Barkley's record-setting season was another topic of discussion. Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards on 345 carries, leading him to be named NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Sirianni discussed managing player workloads effectively: "We do everything we can do to win each and every game."
Sirianni credited Barkley's dedication and hard work towards maintaining his fitness throughout an intense season.
