Bryce Harper, the Philadelphia Phillies star, has unexpectedly gained a following on social media this winter. His cooking videos on TikTok, including recipes for ribs and cheesesteaks, have attracted over 3.5 million views. "Yeah, that was fun," Harper remarked at BayCare Ballpark. He shared his interest in health and wellness through homemade snacks and meals.

Despite his social media presence, Harper's focus remains on baseball as he joined the Phillies' camp for their first full-squad workout. This offseason marked the first since 2019 without the team signing a player to a multiyear contract. Harper acknowledged changes within the team: "We obviously lost some guys and kind of rounded off the edges." He expressed optimism about new players contributing to their success.

Harper is aware of moves by other teams, like the Dodgers' improvements and the Mets signing Juan Soto. With teammates Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Ranger Suárez potentially becoming free agents after this season, Harper feels a sense of urgency: "Everybody should be hungry in this room."

Entering his seventh year of a 13-year contract worth $330 million, Harper's future with the Phillies is under discussion. While his agent Scott Boras has hinted at an extension desire, no immediate plans are in place. Phillies managing partner John Middleton expressed interest in Harper retiring with the team.

The team's efforts to boost their World Series chances include lineup adjustments by Manager Rob Thomson. Schwarber might move from leadoff to cleanup when Harper bats second. "I haven't been talked to yet," said Harper about potential lineup changes but emphasized his willingness to adapt for team success.

Last season, Harper achieved a .285 batting average with 30 home runs and an .898 OPS but believes there is room for improvement: "I'd like my OPS to be higher." He stressed playing within one's capabilities as key to team success.
