The Philadelphia Eagles have parted ways with offensive lineman Nick Gates. The announcement was made on Tuesday, ending Gates' stint with the team.

Gates joined the Eagles during training camp as a seasoned backup option, having previously accumulated 41 starts in both regular-season and playoff games across four of the five offensive line positions before his time in Philadelphia. His NFL journey began when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants in 2018. Prior to joining the Eagles, he played for the Washington Commanders during the 2023 season.

This season, Gates participated in nine games for the Eagles and started as center in their regular-season finale. Unfortunately, he sustained a groin injury while preparing for the Super Bowl and was subsequently placed on Injured Reserve.
