The Philadelphia Flyers faced a challenging match against the Utah Hockey Club, resulting in a 3-2 overtime loss at Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Tuesday evening. Dylan Guenther's decisive goal at 4:59 of overtime secured the win for Utah after he had earlier tied the game during the third period.

Flyers' goaltender Samuel Ersson was noted for his performance, stopping 39 of 42 shots despite the loss. Meanwhile, Karel Vejmelka from Utah made 18 saves on 20 shots. The Flyers had a strong start with ten shots in the first period but struggled to maintain control as Utah dominated much of the remaining game time.

Philadelphia initially led with a goal by Rodrigo Abols, marking his first NHL goal, assisted by Travis Sanheim and initiated by Jacob Gaucher. Nicolas Deslauriers engaged in a fight with Liam O'Brien later in the period. Despite being outshot 12-10, defenseman Emil Andrae managed four attempts on net.

Utah equalized early in the second period with Mikhail Sergachev scoring and assists credited to Guenther and Barrett Hayton. The Flyers quickly regained their lead through Tyson Foerster's goal following an assist from Sean Couturier and Bobby Brink. A disallowed goal from Travis Konecny marked a turning point as Utah challenged an offside entry successfully.

Despite several penalties against them, including one for delay of game against Abols and another for holding against Nick Seeler, Philadelphia's penalty kill remained effective throughout these challenges. Sean Couturier also took a penalty towards the end of the second period leading into carryover power play time for Utah.

During this power play in the third period, Clayton Keller set up Barrett Hayton for a close-range attempt which was thwarted by Ersson. However, Guenther soon leveled again at 8:40 with assistance from Hayton and Sergachev. As pressure mounted from Utah post-equalizer, Ersson made multiple key saves keeping Philadelphia within reach until overtime where they eventually succumbed to Guenther’s last-second winner following contributions from Sergachev and Keller who narrowly avoided an offside call moments before setting up Guenther’s decisive strike.
