Eagles clinch NFC Championship with dominant win over Commanders

After a decisive victory at Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Eagles secured the NFC Championship for the second time in three years. The Eagles scored a record 55 points in their Conference Championship Game, defeating the Commanders 55-23.

Saquon Barkley was instrumental in the win with 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Jalen Hurts contributed by running in three scores and throwing for one. The Eagles' defense and special teams played a crucial role by forcing three fumbles and securing an interception by Quinyon Mitchell late in the fourth quarter.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni praised his team, saying, "Great organization that we have, starting with (Chairman/CEO) Mr. (Jeffrey) Lurie, (Executive Vice President/General Manager) Howie (Roseman). I don't think I've shied away from how much those guys mean to me."

Jalen Hurts expressed gratitude and emphasized teamwork: "I just think you have to give a ton of gratitude...the mission is to go take advantage of the opportunities we present ourselves with."

Saquon Barkley shared his excitement about joining Philadelphia for moments like this: "That's why I came here...Nothing better than a game where you can advance to the Super Bowl."

Linebacker Zack Baun reflected on their hard work: "This is crazy, this is exciting...it feels like we're supposed to be here."

Wide Receiver A.J. Brown spoke about maintaining high performance levels: "You try to take it to another level...it's still not over."

Linebacker Oren Burks highlighted team unity amidst external pressures: "It's super special...we know what we got in this room."

Tackle Lane Johnson acknowledged the camaraderie within the team: "We have a great group of guys that are friends on and off the field...I'm so happy for the city."

The Eagles now prepare for their next challenge as they aim for success at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
