The Philadelphia Eagles have made several roster adjustments ahead of their Wednesday walkthrough. The team has activated the 21-day practice window for wide receiver and punt returner Britain Covey, signed offensive lineman Cameron Erving and tight end Nick Muse to the practice squad, and released defensive end KJ Henry from the practice squad.
Britain Covey, who was placed on Injured Reserve on December 28 due to a neck injury sustained in a December 1 game against the Ravens, is set to return to practice. The third-year player from Utah serves as the team's primary punt returner but was limited to five games during the regular season due to injuries. Covey has demonstrated his abilities in playoff situations, with a notable 27-yard return during his rookie Super Bowl appearance against the Chiefs. In 2023, he led the league with 417 total punt return yards and was unique in having multiple returns over 50 yards.
Cameron Erving joins the Eagles' practice squad after previous stints with both the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers' practice squads this past season. Originally drafted by Cleveland Browns in 2015, Erving has played in 98 regular-season games and three postseason games throughout his career. He was part of Kansas City's Super Bowl-winning team in 2019. With experience across tackle, guard, and center positions, Erving brings versatility to Philadelphia's offensive line.
Nick Muse comes to Philadelphia after being drafted by Minnesota Vikings in 2022 as a seventh-round pick out of South Carolina. Over three seasons, he participated primarily as a practice squad elevation for Minnesota. Muse is known for his college tenure at William and Mary before transferring to South Carolina where he started all games in his final year.
The release of KJ Henry marks another move by the Eagles today. Previously picked by Washington Commanders in the fifth round, Henry had been on Philadelphia's practice squad since November but did not appear in any games for them. Earlier this season with Dallas Cowboys, Henry recorded one sack during his time there and played ten games for Washington as a rookie.
