In the coming days, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America will reveal its selections for the National Baseball Hall of Fame's Class of 2025. This announcement will add to the Classic Era Committee's recent choices, Dick Allen and Dave Parker.
Ryan Thibodaux’s Hall of Fame ballot tracker provides insight into voting trends, while Jason Sardell offers projections based on past simulations. The official results will be announced live on MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET on January 21.
A notable aspect is whether another player will join Mariano Rivera in receiving a unanimous vote. Rivera was inducted in 2019 with all 425 votes. "We could see something we’ve only seen once before in Hall of Fame history."
Ichiro Suzuki, who began his Major League career by setting records, might make history again. According to Thibodaux’s tracker, Ichiro is currently at 126-for-126 ballots known so far.
CC Sabathia is trending towards election in his first year of eligibility with a current vote percentage of 91.3%. Sardell projects him to finish at 88%.
Billy Wagner is on his final BBWAA ballot and is polling at 84.9%, projected to end at 83%. "With 73.8% of the vote last year... Will he seal the deal?"
Carlos Beltrán's candidacy has been influenced by his involvement in the Astros' sign-stealing scandal but he is polling at 77%, projected to reach 72%.
Andruw Jones remains uncertain as he needs a significant increase from last year's vote percentage to meet the threshold for induction.
Chase Utley shows promise with a current polling rate of 53.2%, up from last year's finish at 28.8%. Sardell projects him to end at 41%.
Among first-time candidates, Ichiro and Sabathia are expected to remain on future ballots along with Félix Hernández and Dustin Pedroia.
The announcement will clarify which players have secured their place in baseball history and who may need more time or support for future consideration.
