The Philadelphia Phillies have announced the appointment of Mark Lowy as their new assistant pitching coach. This decision follows the departure of Brian Kaplan, who has taken on the role of pitching coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Lowy, aged 32, has been part of the Phillies organization for four years. His most recent position was as the lead pitching development analyst. He began his tenure with the team in 2021 as an integrative baseball performance associate within player development. Over time, he advanced to roles such as pitching development analyst in 2022 and upper-level pitching coordinator in 2023.

Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Lowy played college baseball at Gettysburg College. Prior to joining the Phillies, he worked at Cressey Sports Performance in Florida as an associate pitching coordinator. Cressey Sports Performance is known for training professional baseball players like Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Corey Kluber, and top Phillies prospect Andrew Painter.
