The Philadelphia Flyers secured a 2-1 shootout victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena. The game, held on Thursday evening, saw the Flyers perform strongly in five-on-five play. A late third-period goal by Owen Tippett allowed the team to earn a regulation point. In the shootout, both Travis Konecny and Tippett scored to give the Flyers an additional point. This win improved their record to 5-8-1, while the Lightning fell to 7-6-1 after going winless in four games.

In the first period, Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay with a wraparound goal at 19:15, assisted by Brandon Hagel and Emil Lilleberg. Goaltender Ivan Fedotov overcommitted on one side of the net during this play. The second period was scoreless despite several chances for both teams.

Owen Tippett tied the game at 15:44 of the third period with his third goal of the season, assisted by Travis Konecny. Fedotov earned his first NHL win by stopping 23 out of 24 shots and was perfect in two shootout attempts. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 31 out of 32 shots but could not secure his 300th career win as he went 0-for-2 in the shootout.

The Flyers failed to convert on two power-play opportunities but successfully killed off two penalties. Goaltender Aleksei Kolosov's injury led to Kyle Konin being eligible as an emergency backup goalie due to Samuel Ersson's unavailability.

During overtime and into a shootout, Tampa Bay chose to shoot first but failed against Fedotov’s saves, while Konecny and Tippett capitalized on their chances for Philadelphia.

The match featured various lineups and plays from both teams with notable performances from players such as Sean Couturier, Joel Farabee, Morgan Frost, Noah Cates, among others.
