The Philadelphia Eagles secured their fifth consecutive win by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 34-6 at AT&T Stadium. This victory places the Eagles at the top of the NFC East with a 7-2 record, surpassing the Washington Commanders.
Philadelphia's defense dominated throughout the game, while quarterback Jalen Hurts contributed four touchdowns. By early in the fourth quarter, Eagles fans outnumbered Cowboys supporters in attendance.
In their first victory in Dallas since 2017, the Eagles capitalized on turnovers. A key moment occurred when Cooper Rush fumbled a snap and Milton Williams recovered it for Philadelphia. Jalen Hurts then scored a touchdown after Saquon Barkley's significant run helped set up the play.
Head Coach Nick Sirianni praised his team's defensive performance: "I think the defense has done a really nice job," he said. "They played a great game today."
Despite two turnovers from Philadelphia's offense, their defense held strong against Dallas, limiting them to just one yard on three plays after taking possession at Philadelphia's six-yard line.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter commented on their unity: "We're just balling. We're feeling it. We're all together, all eating as one."
The rookie class made notable contributions as well, with standout performances from players like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Will Shipley averaged 32 yards on returns, while Johnny Wilson caught his first touchdown pass.
Jalen Hurts overcame setbacks during the game but managed to deliver high production overall with both passing and rushing touchdowns. Sirianni commended Hurts' resilience: "He didn't let one play affect the rest of his game," he noted.
Special teams also performed effectively; Braden Mann averaged 52 yards per punt and Sydney Brown and Kelee Ringo excelled in coverage roles.
Overall, Philadelphia's defense was crucial in containing Dallas to nine total net yards in the third quarter alone. They maintained pressure on quarterback Cooper Rush throughout, contributing significantly to this decisive win over their divisional rivals.
