Peter Lemi, a registered nurse at the TUH-Episcopal Campus, was recently presented with the DAISY Award, recognizing his dedication to patient care, leadership, and teamwork. Lemi works on C4, where he consistently demonstrates kindness and professionalism, particularly during challenging situations, according to a nomination excerpt.

"Peter consistently provides kindness and compassion to all patients and team units. He handles his job with such professionalism during challenging situations. His commitment and dedication have not gone unnoticed."

The nomination highlights Lemi's leadership qualities and his willingness to assist colleagues across different units. "Pete exemplifies the meaning of a leader. He goes above and beyond to improve positive outcomes, and he is eager and willing to help his colleagues not only on his unit, but on other units as well. He is caring, compassionate, and clinically superb."

Celebrating his DAISY Award with colleagues, Lemi is noted for his mentorship and support within the nursing community. "Pete is a dedicated mentor and educator, and his peers and colleagues express gratitude for his guidance. He is very supportive and nursing all while fostering professional growth. He truly is an example of Temple’s core values."

The DAISY Award honors the memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from an autoimmune disease. The Barnes family, impressed by the nurses' compassion during Barnes's care, established this international award to recognize nursing excellence globally.
