Needing a win to secure their spot in the Round of 16 at the 2025 Generation adidas Cup, the Philadelphia Union Academy's U-16 team delivered a composed performance under pressure. They defeated Liga MX's Club America with a 2-0 victory.

Tyler Gladstone played a key role on Monday morning in Florida, scoring both goals for the team, known as the Baby Snakes, ensuring their progression to the prestigious event's next stage. The defense maintained its solid record by securing their second-straight shutout against the Mexican team.

With this victory, the Union U-16s collected six points, finishing as runners-up in their group, which qualified them for the knockout round. "Pedro Cavalcanti's side will have a day to recover after playing three games in three days before taking to the pitch on Wednesday morning to face off against Charlotte FC in the Round of 16."
