Philadelphia Union II extended their unbeaten streak to three matches following a tightly contested game on the road against Huntsville City FC on Friday evening. The encounter culminated in Union II partaking in a third consecutive penalty shootout under the guidance of Head Coach Ryan Richter.

Union II's match began with an early setback as they conceded the first goal, but they managed to equalize before half-time. Sal Olivas scored for the visitors, securing his fifth career goal in the MLS NEXT Pro league. The team's momentum continued into the second half when 15-year-old Cavan Sullivan scored his second goal in a row for Union II.

Despite a save by Oliver Semmle in the penalty shootout, Huntsville City FC emerged with a 4-3 victory in the shootout, earning the additional point.

Head Coach Ryan Richter came into the match with his third distinct starting lineup of the year. Key lineup changes included goalkeeper Oliver Semmle and Rafael Uzcátegui making his MLS NEXT Pro debut.

Union II's persistence was evident as the team navigated through a back-and-forth match. "Union II's persistence paid dividends in the first half," and their play was characterized by quick and decisive passing. Despite their efforts, they left the match with a single point after losing the penalty shootout.

Union II will look to continue their unbeaten run when they host Atlanta United FC 2 on April 10, following another extended break between league matches.
