The Eagles have bolstered their offensive line by signing veteran tackle Kendall Lamm to a one-year contract. The team announced the move on Tuesday. Lamm, who played 15 games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, is preparing for his 11th season in the NFL.
Lamm began his professional career as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2015 after playing college football at Appalachian State. He spent four years with Houston before joining the Cleveland Browns for two seasons in 2019 and 2020. Following a year with the Tennessee Titans in 2021, Lamm moved to Miami, where he participated in 33 games over three seasons.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 308 pounds, Lamm started seven games last year before being placed on Injured Reserve in January. He mainly played left tackle while with the Dolphins.
In terms of performance during the 2024 season, Lamm led all tackles by allowing zero sacks and was ranked tenth among tackles with a pass-blocking grade of 83.1 according to Pro Football Focus.
Philadelphia's offensive line remains largely intact from their Super Bowl LIX Championship team, retaining four out of five starters: Jordan Mailata (left tackle), Landon Dickerson (left guard), Cam Jurgens (center), and Lane Johnson (right tackle). The Eagles also added former Texan Kenyon Green this offseason through a trade. Meanwhile, last year's starting right guard Mekhi Becton signed with the Chargers, and swing tackle Fred Johnson joined the Jaguars during free agency.
Kendall Lamm expressed enthusiasm about joining Philadelphia: "It's the culture, it's the consistency, the way they play ball. I'm undrafted going on Year 11 and I've made the 53-man roster every year. So I know what it takes to have to do certain things from grit. Nobody expects much and I really go get it. So I feel like it aligns perfectly here."
