Fifteen games and numerous highlights marked the conclusion of the second edition of Spring Breakout, with only one game between the Dodgers and Cubs being rained out. The event showcased 68 of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects for the 2025 season, including five from the top ten.
Major League Baseball has announced the All-Spring Breakout Teams for 2025, highlighting prospects who stood out during the event. This year's teams feature players from 22 different farm systems.
Catcher Ariel Armas of the Chicago Cubs impressed with a home run in his sole at-bat as a defensive substitution. Ryan Clifford of the New York Mets hit a notable home run, showcasing his power tool rated at 60-grade by sending a fastball into center field. Kristian Campbell of the Boston Red Sox, referred to as "Minor League Barry Bonds" by teammates, also hit a memorable home run during the showcase opener.
Arizona Diamondbacks' LuJames Groover made an impact with two hits including a double and triple after recovering from a wrist injury last season. Tampa Bay's Carson Williams completed a quartet of top prospect homers alongside his California native peer Marcelo Mayer.
The Mariners’ Tai Peete shone with three hits including a homer while Kevin Alcántara from Chicago Cubs continued his impressive spring form. Justin Crawford displayed speed reminiscent of his father Carl Crawford by hitting a single and stealing bases for Philadelphia Phillies.
Among pitchers, Didier Fuentes delivered seven strikeouts in three innings for Atlanta Braves while Winston Santos pitched three perfect innings for Texas Rangers. Bubba Chandler was another standout performer among pitchers on display.
"Just growing as a pitcher," said Chandler about his approach to mixing pitches effectively in big leagues.
These performances underline potential future stars in Major League Baseball coming through various farm systems across different clubs this year at Spring Breakout 2025.
