The Philadelphia Eagles have announced a new addition to their roster, signing outside linebacker Joshua Uche to a one-year contract. This move was confirmed on Thursday and marks another step in shaping Vic Fangio's defensive lineup.

Joshua Uche, previously with the Kansas City Chiefs following a trade from the New England Patriots last October, has made notable contributions throughout his NFL career. The 26-year-old athlete has accumulated 20.5 sacks and 34 quarterback hits since entering the league as a second-round draft pick from Michigan in 2020.

Uche's standout season came in 2022 with the Patriots, where he achieved a personal best of 11.5 sacks and recorded 49 pressures at an impressive rate of 18.5 percent. In the following year, while still with New England, he managed two sacks and completed the season with 23 tackles over 13 games.

According to Pro Football Focus data, Uche boasts a pressure rate of 16.7 percent since 2022, placing him sixth among edge defenders in the NFL. His collegiate performance was also noteworthy; during his senior year at Michigan, he led his team with 8.5 sacks and earned a spot on PFF's All-Big Ten Second Team.

With this acquisition, the Eagles integrate Uche into Defensive Ends/Outside Linebacker Coach Jeremiah Washburn's group of edge rushers as they continue to build their defense for the upcoming season.
