The Philadelphia Eagles have released defensive back James Bradberry, as announced on Wednesday. Bradberry joined the team in the 2022 offseason after leaving the New York Giants. During his time with the Eagles, he achieved second-team All-Pro honors at cornerback and contributed to their top-ranked pass defense leading to an NFC Championship. In that season, he was third in the league with 17 pass deflections and recorded three interceptions.
In 2023, Bradberry started 16 games for the Eagles, participating in 91 percent of the snaps. He transitioned to safety in 2024 but faced a setback due to a season-ending injury that placed him on Injured Reserve for the entire year.
Bradberry's professional career began when he was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Samford. He later signed with the Giants as a free agent in 2020, where he earned Pro Bowl recognition.
