Rookies Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell made a strong impression in the NFL during the 2024 season. Both were finalists for the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year, with DeJean achieving 50 tackles, six pass defenses, three fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble. Mitchell recorded 46 tackles, 12 pass defenses, and two playoff interceptions.

Darius Slay played alongside Mitchell on the outside for the Eagles, contributing 49 tackles, 13 pass defenses, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery over 14 games. Isaiah Rodgers participated in both cornerback duties and special teams across 15 games. Kelee Ringo was active in all 17 games primarily on special teams.

Avonte Maddox served mainly as a backup but added veteran leadership. Over his career with Philadelphia, Maddox has accumulated significant statistics including 264 tackles and eight forced fumbles. Eli Ricks also participated in seven games.

The Eagles secured defensive back Tariq Castro-Fields to a future contract following his time on their practice squad. Parry Nickerson was similarly signed after showing potential during Training Camp. A.J. Woods joined through a future contract after joining the practice squad earlier.

As free agency approaches, Maddox and Rodgers are set to become unrestricted free agents.

Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio remarked on Quinyon Mitchell's progress: "He has had a really great season... He works hard and keeps his head down... This is a player who won't get ahead of himself."

Cooper DeJean earned recognition with an overall PFF grade of 82.7 and excelled in run defense with a grade of 90.8.

The team faces decisions regarding Rodgers and Maddox in free agency while considering Kelee Ringo's potential expanded role on defense as they prepare for the upcoming season.
