Kellen Moore has been appointed as the new head coach of the New Orleans Saints, just days after playing a pivotal role in the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory at Caesars Superdome. Moore, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Eagles last season, was instrumental in leading an offense that ranked seventh in scoring and eighth in total offense.

Moore's tenure with the Eagles saw a historic postseason performance, with his team scoring 145 points across four games, setting a new NFL record for points scored in a single postseason. His efforts have not gone unnoticed by his peers. Head Coach Nick Sirianni praised Moore's capabilities, stating, "Just can't say enough good things about what he's done here as our coordinator... I think he would be a great head coach."

Before joining the Eagles, Moore worked with the Los Angeles Chargers as their offensive coordinator in 2023. His coaching career began with the Dallas Cowboys, where he was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019 after starting as a quarterbacks coach. Under his guidance, Dallas achieved notable success offensively and secured multiple playoff appearances.

Moore's transition to head coach comes at a time when the Saints are looking to improve from their 5-12 record last season. The team faced challenges throughout 2024, including a narrow loss to Moore's former team, the Eagles.

As Moore steps into this new role at age 36, he brings with him experience both on and off the field. A former NFL quarterback himself, Moore played for teams such as the Lions and Cowboys before transitioning into coaching.

The Saints hope that Moore's leadership will bring renewed energy and success to their franchise.
