For several Philadelphia Eagles players, Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans is more than just another game. It's a homecoming.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who grew up just over an hour from the Superdome in Amite, Louisiana, expressed his excitement about playing so close to home. "It means a lot," Smith said. "Not just because it's back at home, but just because this was the end goal – to get to the Super Bowl."

Linebacker Zack Baun also shared his thoughts on returning to New Orleans, where he began his NFL career with the Saints. "It's definitely special being back here in New Orleans," Baun stated. He reflected on his journey and described it as "poetic."

Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson echoed similar sentiments, having started his career with the Saints after being drafted in 2019. "It's just a full-circle moment," Gardner-Johnson said. He expressed gratitude for those who helped him along his path.

Practice squad player Parry Nickerson has deep ties to New Orleans, having played college football at Tulane University and co-owning an art gallery in the city. Nickerson spoke of the upcoming game as a reunion but emphasized that it remains a business trip.

Running back Tyrion Davis-Price, hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will experience his second consecutive Super Bowl after reaching last year's event with the 49ers. He fondly recalled past successes at the Superdome and expressed eagerness for another win.

Finally, safety Andre' Sam looks forward to celebrating both the Super Bowl and his 26th birthday in his home state of Louisiana. Despite never playing there before, he is excited about participating in such a significant event.

These players bring unique personal connections to their return to Louisiana for this year's championship game.
