Penn Baseball celebrates anniversary with Anthony Gargano as keynote speaker

The University of Pennsylvania baseball team and the Penn Champions Club have announced that Anthony Gargano will be the featured speaker at their annual Dinner on the Diamond event. This year's celebration marks 150 years of Penn Baseball and is scheduled for Saturday, February 15.

Gargano, a well-known sports figure in Philadelphia, is expected to share his experiences and insights during the event. The celebration will begin with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. at the Coach Dave Micahnik Fencing Center. It aims to bring together alumni, parents, friends of the program, and current team members to honor the history of Penn Baseball.

Several championship teams from Penn's past will be recognized during this event. These include the 1975 EIBL champions and Ivy League champions from 1990 and 1995, along with other notable teams that have contributed to Penn Baseball's legacy.

Anthony L. Gargano has a long career in broadcasting, writing, and content production spanning over three decades. He currently runs PHLY, a digital channel covering Philadelphia sports under the ALLCITY network umbrella. In addition to hosting a weekly show on Fox Sports Radio, he contributes to Good Day Philadelphia.

Gargano's career includes hosting radio shows on stations like 94 WIP and 97.5 The Fanatic since 2000. He has worked as a writer for major publications such as the Philadelphia Inquirer and New York Post and was involved with Associated Press in Chicago.

His published works include three books and two screenplays. He has been a sports anchor for Fox 29 and contributed to various websites and magazines while appearing on major networks like ESPN, FOX, ABC, NBC, CNN.

Gargano has also appeared in films including Adam Sandler's "Hustle" and launched "Yo Kid! Sports," a youth sports platform inspired by his sons Anthony Jr., age 15, and Massimo, age 11.
