Philadelphia Union has announced the acquisition of central defender Ian Glavinovich from Newell's Old Boys. The deal is structured as a one-year loan with an option for a permanent transfer. Glavinovich will join the Union's active roster after securing his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa, taking up an international roster spot.

The 23-year-old Glavinovich has been with CA Newell's in Argentina's top division since 2022. He has made 30 appearances for the team, including participation in league and cup competitions. Notably, he ranked fourth in minutes played during the Copa de la Liga 2024 for CA Newell's and recorded his first career assist on January 25 against CA Central Córdoba.

Glavinovich also represented Argentina at the under-23 level in 2023, participating in two international friendly matches.

Transaction details confirm that Philadelphia Union acquired Ian Glavinovich on December 20, 2024. He is expected to join the team once all necessary documentation is completed.
