Three Flyers players have been selected to participate in the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off Tournament. The event will take place from February 12 to 20 at Bell Centre in Montreal and TD Garden in Boston. Players from Canada, the USA, Sweden, and Finland will compete in a round-robin preliminary round, followed by a final match between the top two teams.
Travis Konecny will represent Team Canada. Konecny is currently leading the Flyers in scoring with 20 points recorded in November. He has consistently performed well, producing at least one point in 11 of his last 12 games. If he maintains this pace throughout the season, Konecny could achieve career highs with projected totals of 43 goals, 56 assists, and 99 points. Known for his versatility and effectiveness as a penalty killer, Konecny has previously represented Canada at international competitions such as the Under-18 World Championship and IIHF World Championships.
Rasmus Ristolainen will play for Team Finland. In his fourth season with the Flyers, Ristolainen has overcome past injuries to become a key player under assistant coach Brad Shaw's guidance. Known for his physical style and on-ice presence, Ristolainen has improved his positional play significantly. This tournament marks Ristolainen's return to international competition since representing Finland at the World Cup of Hockey in 2016.
Travis Sanheim will also join Team Canada. A favorite for winning his third Barry Ashbee Trophy as the Flyers' top defenseman, Sanheim has shown strong performance this season with five goals and 15 points over 25 games. His previous experience includes representing Canada at various levels such as the Under-18 World Championships and IIHF World Championships.
The tournament provides an opportunity for these players to showcase their skills on an international stage against top-tier competition.
