The University of Pennsylvania baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2025 season, as they aim to defend their Ivy League Tournament title for a third consecutive year. The Quakers are looking to secure the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Regional.
The upcoming season features challenging non-conference games, starting with a trip to Florida State and followed by a series against Troy. The schedule also includes matches against regional rivals Delaware, Lafayette, Lehigh, and Villanova, as well as participation in the Liberty Bell Classic beginning in March against Saint Joseph's.
Penn will host 18 games at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium, highlighted by an eight-game homestand from April 16-27. John Yurkow, Head Coach of Baseball at Penn, expressed enthusiasm about facing Florida State: "We couldn't be more excited to kick off our 2025 season with a challenging series against ACC powerhouse Florida State," he said. He emphasized that such matchups provide valuable opportunities for early testing and setting the tone for the year.
The Quakers will travel to Tallahassee from February 21-23 for their first-ever meeting with Florida State at Dick Howser Stadium. They will then play a three-game series at Troy from February 28-March 1 before returning home on March 7 to face Delaware.
Penn's rivalry with Rutgers continues on March 11 in what will be their 50th meeting. Other notable games include visits to Lafayette and Lehigh in mid-March and the start of Ivy League play against Harvard on March 22-23.
As part of their preparations for another competitive Ivy League campaign, Penn will participate in the Liberty Bell Classic and have further fixtures lined up against Dartmouth, Princeton, Villanova, Cornell, Monmouth, Yale, Rider, Columbia, and Brown through May.
Last season saw Penn finish with an overall record of 24-25 and go through an impressive run in the Ivy League Tournament after entering as the No.4 seed. Despite falling early in the Charlottesville Regional hosted by Virginia last year after winning their second consecutive crown by defeating Princeton and Cornell.
